Unfortunately website pictures seldom tell the whole story about a product. Here's what you may not see or be able to conclude by looking at the picture of this shelf: Each corner of the shelf has a metal loop that will hold the paired legs in place after you snap each leg into the necessary slot. For weak hands that task can be difficult or impossible, depending on each user's determination and level of strength. I have arthritic, weak hands and tried about four times before I thought to rest the shelf on my lap and force one pair of legs into the two slots while incorporating the strength of both my arms. To snap the second pair of legs in place, I rested the unit on the floor and forced it with my foot (protected with my sandal's heavy sole). Whenever I deal with things that can lead to a freak accident, I try to consider scenarios. I thought of asking my eight-year-old neighbor (aka Hercules) who loves to do these kinds of things. Erring on the side of caution, however, I said, “This is metal. He can get hurt. I'll have to ask him to wear a padded coat, and gloves. Blah, blah, blah.” Hence, I finally snapped the legs in place without bothering Hercules. Because each pair of legs are now snug in place I believe that the shelf will be sturdy enough to do its duty w/o any mishap. It's too wide (4 7/8″) and long for my bathroom sink – the legs spread out about 20″. Until my shower is redone, I'll be temporarily placing the unit on the shower floor to hold essentials.

A.It would depend on the size and shape of your sink. I am using mine in the bathroom and its quite handy. Honestly tho, it would not work with my kitchen sink, and be stable due to the small lip around the sink that is raised.

I have a small sink with limited counter space and was sick of my things falling into the basin when ever I was attempted to brush my teeth or my hair at this sink. I absolutely love this product. I am able to have my hand soap, two face creams, and tooth brush holder all safely up and out of the way. No more knocking them down and into the sink whenever I try to move.

Perfect for my needs. Added much-needed space over a sink installed in a small vanity. Chrome is fine, but stainless steel would have been better b/c of rust potential in bathroom due to constant moisture/humidity. Store had only 1 on shelf, so am searching for several others online, thus far w/o success.

A.I use it in the bathroom, so I would say it would also be perfect for the kitchen. One suggestion, measure the height of your faucet, first, to be sure the shelf fits over it.

A.Yes. It's sturdy and bigger than I expected. The length of the spread out legs is 21 3/8" and the width is almost 5 inches, with 4 1/4" of usable space. Because the shelf is about 7" above the counter surface, you can slip things under it. If you read my review, you'll see that you need strong hands to snap the paired legs into place.

Spotted this item while walking around my local store and thought it would be great to organize items on my bathroom counter. It only cost $4.97, which I thought was an awesome price for something so practical. Boy, was I wrong. It is cheaply made and did not survive what should have been a VERY simple construction (cutting off the plastic ties that secured it and unfolding the legs). With a little effort, the left leg snapped into place. However, the right leg proved to be impossible to snap into place. After about ten minutes of childbirth-like pushing, the right leg finally moved to the area where it should have been. Yet the effort proved too much for this piece of junk because the top separated from the unit, and both the shelf portion and right legs bent. Since I don't possess a soldering gun or the strength to bend this item back into shape, it is now in the garbage.
